Waves Of Fun

It was such a beautiful sunrise at Coolum Beach yesterday, that we decided to take the kayak out for a paddle later in the day. The kids wanted to go for a paddle on the Maroochy River, so we loaded the kayak on the roof racks and headed off to Cotton Tree. The Maroochy River was fantastic and we paddled out to the river mouth and around the front of the Cotton Tree caravan park. The ocean was a spectacular clear blue colour and very calm, perfect for us on the kayak. We paddled down to the Maroochy surf club and then made or way back to the Maroochy River. It was on the way back that Hunter decided that he really needed to explore the large sand bags near the caravan park. We all had a lot of fun running along the tops of these bags and dodging the waves. As the wind and tide picked up it was time to jump back in the kayak and head back up the Maroochy River, for an early diner and bed. There is some magical property, that the sun and salt water have on our children's sleeping habits and they were tucked up and snoring away by 7-00pm.

We love these winter days on the Sunshine Coast.
